Hello Parents! On Tuesday, We practiced moving mindfully. When we know how to move mindfully, we are less likely to hurt people or ourselves by tripping or running into things, for example. The students observed when moving mindfully, it’s much easier to notice things when we are and quiet and move very slowly.
On Thursday during our mindful breathing, students were given the challenge of staying focused while I created extra distractions around them. They did a great job on keeping their focus and were very mindful of their breathing. We also discussed gratitude and that we can practice being grateful for things and people in our lives. When we routinely feel gratitude in our day, it can help us create a more positive outlook.
As a reminder, if you’d like to practice mindfulness with your student, ask your teacher about signing up for Inner Explorer (it’s free!) and is a great way for you to learn more about mindfulness and what your student is learning. You can receive a link to the audio tracks the students listen to so you can practice together at home.
