There are also other activities that students can play
http://www.bubbabrain.com/ This page gives mixed
review for almost all subjects
Houghton Mifflin Vocab. Click on grade 1 and then
the name of the unit/story we are currently reading (all of the kids are in
different reading groups so it is going to have to be up to your student to
tell you which story they are on right now!) Once you get to the webpage, click
on the "eword" game to the left of the screen to see the specific vocab. We are
working in reading!
http://www.sheppardsoftware.com/math.htm#mixedoperations
Really great math games! There are tons of options for many different subjects in math.
We will do this one on the smart board in class and the
kids love it!
Math Games These are by far the most popular math
games I have used with kids. The games are color coded by grade level so the
red are the 1st grade ones. If you want to challenge yourself with some
new trickier skills, play a orange game.
Math This site has it all- kids games, printable
worksheets, and flashcards.
http://pbskids.org/storyfactory/ Write your own story using Dot's Story Factory.
You are able to write on your own or with some help.
Writing Games This site has tons of resources. I
like these writing games because it is a fun way for little authors to practice
writing while being motivated by working on the computer.
Write your own poem! Click on a link to the left of
the page to make a poem of your own
All Subject areas Click on a subject you want to
work on (I like the math choices the best!) and select P1 for your grade
level.
Construct a Word
Word Family Sort
Spelling Machine This is a way to practice spelling
words correctly. Although we do not have this reading series, the game is
still fun and will increase spelling skills in general. I would suggest
choosing level 2 or 3 words and then just using any unit you want.
