We are starting this week with a review of procedures on our math, reading and writing stations.
Reading workshop
We will be starting our new reading stations. Each student will have a schedule for everyday of the week. This is very exciting and the students are going to love it! We will be diving into making connections while we are reading and learning about fact and opinion.
Math stations
We just finished taking our unit 4 pretest today. I will be putting students into their new math groups and we will jump into our unit 4 that has a lot of measurement in it. We will be getting into the quarter after with telling time. There will be homework coming home starting tomorrow night.
Writing workshop
We are celebrating our writing today that we had for homework over the break. As each students reads aloud their special book, it will go into the community basket that students will get to read during one of our reading stations through out the week. We will focusing on looking for end marks at the end of our sentences.
We are going to start to talk about families in social studies. We are going to share about our families and read about different types of families. There are a lot of things that families need and want. We will be creating books about our own families. I am asking that you please email me or send in a picture of your family by the end of the week. This will help complete our book.
We are moving to our last short vowel 'u'. The next two units in spelling will be based on the short 'u' .
