Reading/Writing workshop
We are really diving into our nonfiction unit. Understanding the different text features and the purpose for them. This will all help understanding the information that they are learning while they are reading. We have learned about photographs, captions, maps, table of contents, glossary, index, important words (bold, italics, underlined and highlighted words) and labels.
We have started to choose different animals to have for our animal research writing project. When we get back from break we will get started in the beginning stages of researching our animal and understanding the books that our groups are getting to help them research.
Math workshop
We are in the middle of Unit 6. We are practicing fact power! Before break we really focused on fact families.

4 number sentences from 2,3,5

3+2=5
5-3=2
5-2=3

If you haven't already, please check the blue folder. There are some important paper about March is reading month and some special events that we are having in the classroom!
We enjoyed celebrating Valentine's Day and the 100th day of school on Tuesday. For the 100th day of school we had our 100th day challenge. There were different activities that all children had to do in 12 different rotations each for only 100 seconds. It was a fun break from our day to day schedule! Please look for pictures following the post.
